डॉ. पंजाबराव देशमुख कृषी विद्यापीठ, अकोला येथील शास्त्रज्ञांनी मागील अनेक वर्षापासून राळा, वरई, नाचणी, भगर, बर्ती व कोदो आदी भरड धान्यावर संशोधन चालू केले आहे. त्या अनुषंगाने राज्यातील बदलत्या वातावरण परिस्थितीला तग धरणारा आणि कमी कालावधीत परिपक्व होणारा राळ्याचा (भादली) वाण विकसित केला आहे.
पी.डी.के.व्ही. विद्यापीठा अंतर्गत राळ्याचा यशश्री हा वाण राज्यात पहिल्यांदाच विकसित करण्यात आलेला आहे. याची प्रति हेक्टरी उत्पादन व उत्पादकता उत्तम आहे. सदर वाणाची गुणवैशिष्ट्ये खालील प्रमाणे:
1) खरीप, रबी व उन्हाळी हंगामात चांगल्या प्रकारे हा वाण येऊ शकतो.
2) प्रति हेक्टरी 23 ते 25 क्विंटल पर्यंत उत्पादन क्षमता आहे.
3) सर्वसाधारणपणे 85 ते 90 दिवसात हा वाण काढणीस तयार होतो.
4) हा वाण कीड व रोगाविरुद्ध तसेच पाण्याचा ताण सहन करण्याची क्षमता अधिक आहे.
5) पौष्टिक गुणधर्माने युक्त असा वाण आहे.
महाराष्ट्रात विशेषता विदर्भ मराठवाडा परिसरात हा वाण अतिशय चांगल्या प्रकारे उत्पादन व उत्पादकता मिळवून देऊ शकतो.
